The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will develop and execute the annual budget and quarterly forecast process. The Director will make strategic recommendations based on analytical techniques in order to provide direction to Senior Management as to current trends and identify action items that can be taken to improve performance.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare our annual and strategic financial plans, focusing on underlying business drivers and sensitivity analysis, by modeling and quantifying the potential effects of changes in our business drivers.
* Responsible for the review, analysis and interpretation of financial, statistical and benchmarking data for internal management and external use.
* Provide analytical support to the senior vice president of Financial Planning and Analysis and CFO.
* Ensure timely production and issuance of the following reports with supporting analysis work: monthly Sales Flash, Sales, OI and EBITDA results summary, monthly Board of Directors (BOD) Operating Income Report, quarterly ABD Reporting Package, quarterly BOD Financial Results, monthly Sales Reconciliation, quarterly OI Reconciliation and draft the 10Q/K MD&A.
* Manage and perform monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting; including reporting review, data compilation and analysis.
* Analyze and interpret fluctuations between actual, budget and prior year amounts for consolidated, divisional and operating company results, focusing on developing business trends and their implications.
* Oversee and review preparation of substantial analytical support for external auditors, including flux analyses and explanations of P&L and Balance Sheet account movements for all global locations.
* Brief the Senior Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis and executive management on a regular basis by summarizing performance and progress vs. the business plan and prior year, highlighting key areas of strengths and weaknesses and making recommendations on improvements.
* Provide financial information and analyses in support of quarterly Earnings Releases and 10Q/K for CFO and VP Investor Relations.
* Establish solid working relationships with Senior Management, finance leaders for each business segments, trading companies and shared service functions while influencing process change.
* Manage and perform special studies, comparative benchmarking and P&L flux of unusual or one-off analyses (e.g., salary & bonuses flux, commodity cost flux, etc), and other ad-hoc presentations, as required.
* Manage and develop the FP&A team.
* Evaluate and monitor investment returns (apply EVA and other Shareholder return techniques).
* Lead and proactively manage the annual planning / budgeting process for ACCO Brands, including the coordination of global operating companies, business segments and trading companies as well as corporate office planning.
* Lead development of KPI's to effectively align strategic initiatives with the business.
* Create new financial models to support the analysis of complex business and accounting issues.
Posting Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting/CPA;
* MBA preferred.
* Ten (10) or more years of financial reporting and accounting experience.
* Experience in a global business, working with consolidating and translating results of foreign subsidiary locations.
* Strong working knowledge of Excel with advanced level of financial modeling required. Proficient in PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word. Prior experience with Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle, working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Reporting Services Business Intelligence platform is ideal.
* Strong presentation skills ability to take complex analysis and present data in a concise, easy to understand format. Prior experience of preparing presentations for Executive Management is required.
* Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking by understanding the business and being able to anticipate and develop business priorities for future actions.
* Able to work under pressure, deliver on tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
* Understanding of accounting and financial consolidation reporting principles.
