The Financial Operations Manager will be responsible for all phases of the organization’s accounting activities including:  Supervise, direct and develop the accounting staff; Preparation of consolidated financial statements; Responsible for monthly reporting to the Controller. Evaluate, improve and implement accounting policies and procedures; and support financial projects.  Ensures an adequate audit trail to properly support information. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Maintain accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP.

 

  1. Month-end close procedures (GL reconciliation and journal entry review/approval).

 

  1. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and GL Accountant processes and personnel.

 

  1. Prepares financial reports on a monthly basis. Perform variance analysis.

 

  1. Manage budget tracking and reporting. Assist with annual budget preparation.

 

  1. Maintain in-depth and hands-on knowledge of accounting functions and processes.

 

  1. Preforms general ad hoc analysis of financial data for trends and variances and presents findings to finance management.

 

  1. Develop financial models for what-if analysis and scenario planning.

 

  1. Assist with information gathering for 990, UDS report and Medicare Cost Report.

 

  1. Participate in organization A-133 financial audit.

 

  1. Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Consistently ensures knowledge of and complies with Mountain Park Health Center policies and procedures.
  2. Observes and respects the confidentiality of all aspects information in regard to patients, visitors, vendors and co-workers.
  3. Maintain consistent, timely communication regarding all facets of departmental activities with his/her co-workers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

 

Must have 5-7 years of supervisory experience managing a team of two or more.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. Master’s degree preferred.   

 

Advanced Excel skills required (v-look up, pivot tables, etc.)

 

Experienced in SQL database reporting and VBasic programing. 

 

Strong ERP system experience. 

 

Must be self-starter, strong sense of urgency, ability to multi-task and highly detail oriented.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 

 

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 

 

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPA License or MBA

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
