Accountemps is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with terrific organizational skills to take up a long term temporary-to-fulltime position at a growing company in the Non-Profit industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role

- Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

- Take part in various department-wide initiatives

- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
- Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- Current and relevant ERP system experience

- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- 7+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Be detailed, flexible, and organized

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Blackbaud experience preferred

- Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel

- Account reconciliation experience

- Solid understanding of general ledger

- Proficiency in cash applications
