Position Description
Analyzes, evaluates and researches federal and state tax legislation and tax laws; prepares federal and state income tax returns and quarterly installments; and assists with federal and state audits.
Position Requirements
Researches and analyzes the IRS codes, federal and state regulations, administrative rulings and court decisions to assist in making recommendations on tax issues.
Prepares federal and state income and/or franchise tax returns using a computerized tax program, updates the tax program, as necessary, for the filing of these returns.
Prepares quarterly federal and state income tax installments, and coordinates the estimated payments with Home Office and Regional Accounting departments.
Assists in the annual preparation of premium tax returns as necessary.
Maintains income tax and/or franchise and premium tax calendars; updates as necessary.
Assists in the preparation for federal and state audits; researches specific tax laws in order to support the filed returns and/or respond to auditors' requests.
Provides technical assistance to Home Office and Regional Accounting personnel on relevant tax issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 20 lbs. maximum, seeing, speaking, hearing.

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
Education Requirements
Four-year college degree in Accounting, including basic tax accounting courses.
Experience Requirements
1-3 years of tax experience .
