AHF is searching for a VP of Finance-Accounting to join our Team of Professionals. This position is based out of our administrative office: 6255 W Sunset Blvd. 21st. Floor in Los Angeles, California and the hours are Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
SUMMARY:
The VP of Finance - Accounting is responsible for owning, managing, and driving the accounting and reporting process for all product lines of AHF. The VP s most significant function is to ensure proper accounting practices are followed and that financial reporting is complete and accurate. This includes analyzing department policies and procedures, diagnosing issues, identifying opportunities and executing corrections. Major activities coordinated by this position include the monthly and annual financial close cycle, financial reporting and ensuring proper preparation for annual financial audit. The VP of Finance will work collaboratively with management in all areas of responsibility to ensure the organization is focused on accurate and complete accounting and financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING.
OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.
Along with the Controller, manages the streamline operations of the accounting department and the process through the reporting of monthly financial statements including but not limited to:
Oversees the efficient operation and management of the Accounts Payable Department including coding, payments and reconciliation.
Oversees the effective operation and management of the Accounts Receivable Department including the medical and pharmacy billing to maximize net revenues and collections.
Oversees the operation and management of the Payroll Department to ensure proper accounting and costing of time, payroll allocations and other payroll related matters. Also collaborates with the HR Department to ensure compliance with current labor law.
Directs and produces timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and A-122. This will include the oversight and review of the entire monthly accounting cycle.
o A/P transactions and accrued expenses.
o A/R transactions and accrued revenues.
o Payroll accounting.
o Fixed assets, prepayments, investment accounting.
o Reconciliation of bank and other general ledger accounts
Manages routine and year-end preparation for the annual financial and single audits.
Participates in the preparation of budgets and other reports as required.
Maintains positive working relationships with financial institutions and audit firms.
Develops and enhances working relationships with the other administrative and programmatic departments.
Continuously reviews the financial internal policies and procedures of the Finance Department as well as external financial policies and procedures and initiates changes as needed.
Participates in the establishment of fiscal and economic strategies, objectives and policies for the company.
Assists the Associate CFO and CFO with the overall management of the company s accounting and financial reporting requirements.
Provides assistance to the Associate CFO as requested.
PARTICIPATION IN AHF MEETINGS/COMMITTEES
Attends AHF meeting as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate supervisor(s). Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with AHF s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
COMPUTER/SOFTWARE SKILLS & ABILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software, and Contact Management software.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 7-12 years of increasing accounting management work experience.
Advanced degree and/or CPA Certification is required.
Knowledge of healthcare and a preference for knowledge of managed care.
Knowledge of non-profit accounting including FASB 116 & 117, OMB A-122 and OMB A-133.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must have strong management and organizational skills.
Knowledge and experience with large ERP system (SAP, Oracle) preferred.
Knowledge and experience with MAS-90 or MAS-200 preferred.
