This position works closely with the Division’s senior statistical analysts to provide up-to-date and accurate statistical data entry and data quality control for information received from Arizona courts. The position maintains permanent files and records related to statistics gathered from courts. This position reviews, analyzes and monitors compliance with statistical reporting requirements, and conducts follow-up with delinquent courts and probation departments to obtain required data. The position is also responsible for maintaining the statistics databases utilizing SAS; maintaining statistical information on the web, answering and responding to calls from courts, probation departments, and other government agencies; and, providing telephonic and onsite training to court personnel on how to utilize and navigate the web-based screens for submitting court data. In addition, this position is also responsible for assisting in the testing of any new enhancements related to submission of statistical data or the reporting of the data. The position is a critical component to publishing the annual data report reflecting the work of all of the courts in the state.

Degree in criminal justice, social science, or related field with appropriate research methodology and statistics course work. Directly related experience may substitute for the degree requirement. In addition, this position requires two years applied statistical research experience, knowledge of SAS (Statistical Analysis System) to analyze and validate data, as well as produce reports; and experience with Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel. Also, this position requires the ability to work effectively with judges, court staff and the public, particularly with skill in responding to court and agency personnel and the public; the ability to visually analyze data to determine anomalies; the ability to effectively and independently handle a number of tasks, projects, and administrative assignments simultaneously; and the ability to plan, schedule, and control the flow of work, as well as work with minimal supervision and instructions.

The preferred candidate will have experience with court case management systems and knowledge of Microsoft Expressions or similar webpage software.

Travel level: negligible.
