POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Arizona Supreme Court has a position vacancy in the challenging area of court statistics and analysis. This position will be responsible for conducting in depth analysis of data related to statistical information for all courts, probation departments and programs related to the Arizona Judiciary. The position will perform in a lead role in publishing the annual data book, a compilation of statistical information for all courts and probation departments in the Arizona State Judiciary including case activity, revenue, expenditure and personnel information. The position will also be responsible for creating and maintaining programs in SAS to run routine and ad hoc analysis. The position is required to perform operations that interact with multiple databases and the data warehouse to obtain data in a meaningful way and to consult with court case management system programmers regarding generation of statistical reports. Additionally, this position will be responsible for training court staff how to report statistical information including business reasons for reporting and technical assistance with reporting tools. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field is required in addition to knowledge of the court system. This position requires seven years applied statistical research experience and the ability to use SAS statistical package, including a database structures and relationships, building queries, maintaining existing programs and programming new SAS programs for data entry screens, reports, and analysis. This position also requires knowledge and understanding of court practices and procedures, and excellent communication and resolution skills.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, at least 3 years’ experience in a court environment, knowledge and experience of SAS Visual Analytics, and knowledge of court case management systems.  

Travel level: up to 25%.
