We are seeking a Controller to join our company based out of Mountain View, CA. The ideal candidate is an influential, hands on leader who exemplifies a can-do attitude, a collaborative approach to resolving issues, maintains a strong connection between the corporate team and our field employees, and provides accounting guidance and support. Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
  • Oversees the accounts payable and payroll functions.
  • Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
  • Ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.
  • Responsible for the preparation of schedules for the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements including income, property, sales and use, and other local taxes and other reports as required.
  • Responsible for property, business license renewals, and other local taxes and reports as required.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and cash flow.
  • Reporting multi-state sales tax for product sales.
  • Involved in validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met both from a people performance as well as systems perspective.
  • Participates in and supports the budgeting process for branches, regions, and corporate office in conjunction with executives and senior management. Tracks and monitors costs and maintains records of company assets including equipment and equipment purchases, and raw chemicals.
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to current staff of 12-15 people including managers, accountants and payroll staff.
  • Reports directly to the owner of the companies.

Qualifications /Requirements:

  • Education - BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance , CPA is a plus
  • 8-10 years of accounting experience in both private and public accounting sectors
  • Maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to multi-task and produce results under deadlines.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Experience with upgrading accounting/ERP systems
