Responsible for assisting with the BVSD Medicaid School Health Program which provides a wide range of health services to all students in the district. The Medicaid Program Assistant completes complex clerical, financial and coordination duties. Reports to the School Medicaid Coordinator in Health Services.
Leads and completes Medicaid claiming to include:
-Serving as the subject matter expert on the ezEdMed system and providing assistance to BVSD employees.
-Maintaining a tracking process to ensure Medicaid claiming is completed accurately, timely and in compliance with Colorado School Health Services Medicaid policies and regulations.
-Maintaining data integrity in the ezEdMed system with weekly/monthly quality assurance reports, uploads, customized reporting, data analysis and timely follow-up. Makes corrections and updates as needed.
-Maintaining, reviewing and updating Medicaid one-time parental consent forms.
-Reviewing student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and other plans of care for language compliance and care requirements. Inputs required data elements into the ezEdMed system.
-Completing data entry for transportation, personal care services and nursing services through paper or electronic process
-Serving as the liaison between BVSD and billing agent
-Maintaining monthly billing reconciliation and roster management processes
Leads and completes random moment time studies to include:
-Managing and ensuring maximum response for 100% compliance
-Maintaining current provider licensure and credential information
-Recommending edits to the program roster
-Collaborates with the School Medicaid Coordinator to provide training and support throughout BVSD related to appropriate and accurate provider documentation, reimbursable services and random moment time studies.
-Prepares payments for vendors and partnering organizations. Serves as ProCard Liaison and maintain records and card issuance and returns.
-Assists the School Medicaid Coordinator with Public Consulting Group (PCG), Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) and Colorado Department of Education (CDE) reporting.
-Maintains student records through electronic conversion and destruction processes per CDE, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.
-Assists the School Medicaid Coordinator with coordination, membership and meeting minutes for the Medicaid Advisory Committee.
-Attends all program required trainings and meetings.
-Provides leadership for the Medicaid School Health Program in collaboration with the School Medicaid Coordinator as needed or when coordinator is unavailable.
Leads and coordinates the CPR and Youth Mental Health First Aid training programs for the district to include scheduling trainings, coordinating instructors, billing and coding charges to the accounting system and communicating sub coding as needed.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
-High School diploma or equivalent.
-Completed and submitted BVSD online application
-Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English
-Minimum of three years experience in administrative, clerical and/or financial work in a health or educational setting
-Experience in health insurance billing, claiming and/or coding
-Experience working in educational institutions and/or special education departments
-Technical courses such as business, word processing, computer and communication.
-Proficiency in Google, MS Office, personal computers and peripherals, office equipment
-Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
