Senior Accountant (Payroll)

This Senior Accountant position is assigned to the Payroll Section of the Finance Department. This position has overall management responsibility of the Payroll Section and has decision-making authority related to the direction and operation of the Payroll Section. This key position oversees the processing of payroll-related forms and applications; reviews edits, approves and processes the Citys payroll runs; and assures payroll activities comply with applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Skill / Requirements
Experience and Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a closely related field AND Three years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting (payroll emphasis), including experience in governmental accounting and one year of supervisory experience.
