IT Business Analysis Manager with CVS Health's Retail division that is driven by a vision to "improve the quality of human life" of those we serve by making innovative and high-quality health and pharmacy services safe, affordable and easy to access. The team is looking for a self-driven individual with exceptionally strong communication and management skills to lead a team of Business Analysts which is aligned with CVS Health's business strategies. Reporting to the Sr. Manager Business Analysis, this individual will lead fulltime business analysts as well as contractors in their execution of projects/initiatives that fall under the Business Analysis Center of Excellence.
At CVS health, the IT BA Manager plays a leadership role in business problem solving and has the ability to take ambiguous, complex business problems using research plus business assessment capabilities to define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the requirements, and recommend actionable next steps. A manager that has years of deep practical work experience in business analysis and/or managing business analysts, with repeated practice performing business analysis in a variety of complex situations. A person in this role has great expertise with regards to what techniques to use and what influences the usage of the various techniques for the tasks. He or she works autonomously to plan, supervise and lead the work of other BAs on projects and work efforts.
This individual will manage both fulltime employees & contractors and execute projects/initiatives that fall under the CVS Health Retail organization. In this role the individual will:
* Be responsible to guide, manage, and direct the activities of business analysts in the development of requirements specifications for application enhancements and upgrades. Participating in budgeting and quality improvement activities for the organization.
* Build and encourage growth of the Business Analysis team; is responsible for providing guidance, direction, feedback and coaching to direct reports as well as assigned project resources to ensure team effectiveness
* Guide business analyst teams and cross-competency teams completing tasks related to business solution planning, business case development as well as documenting and managing customer requirements throughout the development lifecycle. This includes requirements elicitation, analysis, definition, review, and approval, business process analysis; requirements change management, user story creation, and business process modeling, logical system and data design and high level estimating.
* Work collaboratively with business representatives, project management and varied information systems teams to develop and implement the specific technology and architecture necessary to deliver business solutions
* Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising staff
* Participate in organizational activities related to assign resources, manage and mentor team members through strategic deployment, development and performance management
* Analyze and organize business analyst operations and procedures as well as serve as an advocate for process improvement initiatives with in the team and broader business analysis center of excellence.
* Partner with other resource coordinators to source and share resources for effective resource utilization.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated excellence in application development (SDLC) specifically focused on requirements & analysis phase including the following:
* Minimum of 5 years in role taking ambiguous, complex business problems using research plus business assessment capabilities to define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the requirements, and recommend actionable next steps.
* Minimum 5 years experience managing customer requirements or demands effectively, meeting deliverable dates, leading a work group(s), driving process improvements and directing customer contact
* Minimum 5 years of experience managing a large team of direct reports focused on multiple small to medium projects or major components of a large program. Portfolio and resource capacity management in a matrixed organization ·
* Minimum of 5 years in a role utilizing exceptional skills related to business analysis best practices and team leadership; proven experience building a team of effective Business Analysts is required Interviewing skills, to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information. Listening skills, to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say
* Minimum 8 years with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio)

Preferred Qualifications
* Pharmacy or Healthcare knowledge highly-desirable
* Long Term Care knowledge a plus
* Agile methodology
* Experience with process improvement concepts a plus
* Technical and development background a plus
* Experience managing remote employees highly-desirable

Education
* Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent. Will accept one year of relevant work experience for every year of college not attained in addition to required years of experience.
* MS or MBA in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent preferred.
