Job Description

OBJECTIVE

The Business analyst role includes working alongside Goodwill’s senior management team and CEO to ensure that all of our resources are appropriately targeted for the highest return on investment and return on mission.

The Business Analyst will analyze functions, processes and activities of the organization and any affiliates that lead to continuous improvements toward the most effective use of our many resources (funds, materials, equipment and people).  This position will utilize available computer systems, resources, and personnel to carry out analysis to support management’s decisions regarding useful business solutions and courses of action for continuous performance improvement.  Will be in communication with many other departments within Goodwill as well as outside agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational requirement:  A Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in related field.  May substitute known performance for formal education. 

Technical skills required:  Computer proficiency is required.  Financial analytical skills, word processing, spreadsheet, and computerized accounting system experience are essential to this position. Computer systems used by Goodwill are SAP Business One, Counterpoint, iVend, Ultipro HRIS, Novatime, Bi360 Data Warehouse and Report Designer, Tableau, Raiser’s Edge, and others.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY   

  • Works closely with organizational leaders to identify and solve a variety of business system problems to include formal meetings with management to solicit understanding of the problem, document the symptoms of the problem, formally define the problem, break the problem into component parts, gather information about each of the parts, and recommend a solution. Completion of activity would also include documenting the result of implementation of recommended solution.
  • Analyzes requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing business systems
  • Assists in the planning, scheduling, and preparation of implementing improvement programs
  • Assists with data integration activities to provide consistent and centralized data and reporting to include participation with Goodwill Industrial International’s data collection and comparison process
  • Creates and/or recommends innovative solutions which are aligned with company objectives
  • Works with teams to identify problems, analyzes information, and develops process solutions

 

STANDARDS FOR MEASURING PERFORMANCE:

  • Completeness, accuracy, and punctuality of reports and other assignments.
  • Must demonstrate savings attributed to implemented process solutions.
  • Successful submission of monthly and annual data files to Goodwill Industries International
  • Responsibility shown in ensuring all proprietary, financial, personal, and HIPAA information is kept confidential.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special requests
  • Initiative and quality of work.
  • The manner in which this individual conducts him/herself should reflect the high standards of integrity and morals, which are expected of all Goodwill personnel.
