Job Description

Dome Construction Corporation has an outstanding opportunity for a qualified Payroll professional in South San Francisco, CA. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for preparation and oversight of the payroll reporting, manage the day to day functions of payroll department, improve processes, and solve complex issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in fast pace environments

  • Experience processing payroll for 300 plus employees

  • Experience processing payroll using a mid-level ERP or greater

  • 2+ years management experience

  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive related payroll experience

  • Full cycle payroll experience in a large organization

  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, ability to understand impact of payroll activity

  • Strong Excel

  • Proficient with Outlook

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with Certified Payroll

  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to use independent judgment in analyzing situations and making payroll related decisions

  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential material.

  • Ability to work well within a team and promote a healthy work environment, communicate well with all employees

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excel Query skills

  • Familiarity with Construction Industry payroll

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification

  • Understand Union rules and regulations

  • Experience inputting data into an integrated ERP system, Vista by Viewpoint experience strongly desired

  • Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Generally an office/desk position using a computer, telephone and heavy data entry

Skill / Requirements

  • Manage team members and ensure payroll meets operational standards and clearly understand their individual as well as team goals
  • Support and provide training and technical advice to team members and facilitate one-on-one meetings to monitor team performance and development
  • Drive process improvement efforts in coordination with the departments goals and objectives and maintain procedures in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Support Accounting and HR Department to achieve alignment with procedures and practices
  • Compile and review data for external surveys and census information
  • Review and file monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports
  • Assist with accounting month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations related to payroll
  • Review Union and Non-Union payroll for all company employees ensuring accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with labor agreements and legal requirements
  • Resolve payroll issues, address inquiries from employees
  • Generate documents for incentive letters and employee benefit statements
  • Maintenance of rates and earn codes
