Job Description

Perform accounting and finance related functions in support of school plans and goals. Must have good speed and proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.  Must know concepts of accounting.

Complete standard monthly closing process in accordance with monthly closing checklist including Journal Entries, Account Reconciliations, and System Maintenance (backup, closing periods). Process Accounts Payable vouchers including correct entry into accounting systems and accurate check printing and distribution, running & analysis of AP Aging, dated items & credits. Prepare, analyze and report on monthly financial statements including Balance Sheets, Income Statements and Statements of Cash Flow. Reconcile Government funding (Arizona) received versus revenue recognized. Assist with annual external audit by external CPA Firm of company Financial Statements, internal controls and school legal compliance. Complete reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts as assigned. File Government sales taxes with respective state, as required. File Government property taxes with respective jurisdiction based on asset tracking and reconciliations. Prepare recurring commission reports, submit for payment. Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for third party licensing, as required. Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for corporate income taxes, as required. Process Accounts Receivable payments received, running and analysis of AR Aging as well as reporting on aging to identified distribution list. Complete various financial analysis as requested. Perform other related duties as may be required.

Four Year degree is required; Accounting degree is preferred. Desired experience with Charter School Operations, State Funding management and Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks

5+ year accounting experience with strong emphasis in computer systems. Ability to work on projects at one time; excellent communication and organizational skills. A solid understanding of accounting principles. Ability to work all levels of personnel and possess great attention to details. Willingness to learn.
