This position is generally responsible for managing risk to the Bank as it relates to Office of Foreign Asset & Control (OFAC) and compliance. Major Responsibilities: Consistent Monitoring of the OFAC Approval Inbox for escalations. Consistent monitoring of the GFT outgoing and incoming wires for critical industries and key relationships. Under the direct supervision of a manager, performs a high level OFAC review, research and investigation of wire transactions received and transmitted through the Global Funds Transfer System (GFT). Perform a specialized function with high risk restrictions/impact to the bank. Assist with resolution of minimal impact exception items with supervision. Participate in systems upgrades, User Acceptance testing (UAT), Disaster Recovery (DR) related to ACE OFAC Guard, including various aspects of OFAC compliance reporting. Investigates, research, respond and document issues and present recommendations to the manager. Processes work associated with assigned unit in the areas of quality performance and limits risk. Ensures compliance with department policies, procedures, objectives and strategies, responsible for adherence to applicable State Federal and US Regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC4A), OFAC, FDIC, Bank Secrecy Act, and Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA).


Major Responsibilities:
  • Consistent Monitoring of the OFAC Approval Inbox for escalations
  • Consistent monitoring of the GFT incoming wires for critical industries and key relationships
  • Consistent monitoring of the GFT outgoing wires for critical industries and key relationships
  • Discuss Outgoing and incoming GFT manual wire review process to shift from paper generation to a SharePoint folder system to improve response time and capture data for trends.
  • Under the direct supervision of a manager, performs a high level OFAC review, research and investigation of wire transactions received and transmitted through the Global Funds Transfer System (GFT). Perform a specialized function with high risk restrictions/impact to the bank.
  • Assist with resolution of minimal impact exception items with supervision. Participate in systems upgrades, User Acceptance testing (UAT), Disaster Recovery (DR) related to ACE OFAC Guard.
  • Investigates, research, respond and document issues and present recommendations to the manager. Processes work associated with assigned unit in the areas of quality performance and limits risk.
  • Ensures compliance with department policies, procedures, objectives and strategies, responsible for adherence to applicable State Federal and US Regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC4A), OFAC, FDIC, Bank Secrecy Act, and Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA).
  • Consistent application of OFAC regulations to avoid violation against the Bank, Wire Service Managers and Division Members.
  • Ensures quality performance review and research of each blocked or suspected transaction. Ensures timely completion without compromising high level review and release.
  • Communicate and resolve OFAC issues with internal and external departments. Participate in system upgrades and assist in addressing the impact of the system updates on the existing workflow.
  • Consistent development of OFAC regulatory guidelines, Compliance procedures and penalties.

This Position Reports to: Director of Wire Services

Additional Information:
  • 1 to 2 or more years Money Transfer system experience or relevant experience
  • 2 to 3 or more years of Financial Services (Investigations/Compensation) experience
  • Strong working knowledge of OFAC sanctions, policies and controls.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of BSA, AML and OFAC regulations, training and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability analyze and formulate recommendations.
  • Details and Results-oriented, with the ability to function effectively independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven operational and technical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel software.
  • Strong abilities to foster collaboration with others.
  • Excellent Customer Service, training and presentation skills.
