Job Description

The  New Mexico Office  of  the Attorney  General (OAG), Special Investigations Division, Anti-Money Laundering Unit (AMLU) an  Equal  Employment   Opportunity  (EEO)  employer, is seeking applicants for  an "At  Will" (non-classified) grant funded Financial Auditor I position.  An "At Will" position is any state office job or position of employment which is exempt from the service and the Personnel Act, Section 10-9-4, NMSA 1978, wherein the employee serves at the pleasure of the New Mexico Attorney General.  Interested applicants will need to submit application material using the specifically identified Job Reference ID number listed above.

Primary duties include but are not limited: to providing investigation of criminal complaints and/or civil violations of law, analysis of financial records and production of comprehensive reports of findings. Selected candidate will possess the ability to collaborate with other division and agency personnel.  Assist on conducting victim, witness and suspect interviews and conferring with prosecuting attorneys on criminal investigations throughout New Mexico.  Input case information into the AGO and Financial Databases.  Testify when necessary as a witness in a court of law.  Exchange information and assist on investigations with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.  Prepare and conduct training and provide technical guidance to law enforcement and selected audiences in the financial auditor’s area of expertise.  Attend and participate in required meetings as appropriate, and perform other related duties as required. Certification as a CPA and CFE is preferred.
