The Controller will be a full-time employment opportunity and will be located in the Phoenix, Arizona region. Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role. Effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will be essential for this role, and a creative type who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. What you get to do every day

- Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

- Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

- Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

- Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team

- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

- Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Requirements
- Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Detailed and have the ability work independently

- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

- Knowledge of Accrual Accounting

- Account reconciliation experience desired

- Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

- CPA/MBA preferred

- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
