Job Description

Accountemps is actively looking for for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. Are you proficient at multitasking, communicating, organizing, and managing your time? Do you want an opportunity to grow? In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. The Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a short-term temporary opportunity in Phoenix, Arizona

How you will make an impact

- Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents

- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

- Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll

- Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows

- Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

- Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules

- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time
- High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

- Experience with payroll preferred

- Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

- Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required

- A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting

- Proficiency with Peachtree

- General ledger experience

- Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations

- Adeptness in Microsoft Excel

- Proficiency in payroll

- QuickBooks experience

- Accounts payable experience

- Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
