Then Accountemps's Full Charge Bookkeeper position might be right for you. This short-term temporary-to-full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Mesa, Arizona. The most successful candidate for this position will be able to establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements.

Responsibilities

- Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents

- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

- Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

- Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows

- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

- Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

- Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Requirements
- Experience with payroll preferred

- High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

- Earlier work involving Excel and Peachtree

- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds

- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures

- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

- Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks

- Strong organization skills

- A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis of accounting

- Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
