Accountemps has an opening for a Full Charge Bookkeeper that might be just what you're looking for. This short-term temporary-to-full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Tucson, Arizona. In this position, you will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, as well as establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.

Key responsibilities

- Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing

- Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

- Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules

- Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

- Maintaining historical records by filing documents

- Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows

Requirements

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

- Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required

- Proficiency with Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree

- High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience

- Previous experience with payroll preferred

- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience

- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

- Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting

- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
