The Contract and Grant Accounting Department is part of the Financial Services Division. This department interprets and implements UNM policies related to grants and contracts, reviews and interprets policies of outside private and governmental funding agencies, ensures compliance with Federal regulations, generates regular fiscal reports on sponsored programs, guarantees revenue collections and management through automated invoicing and timely follow-up, confirms proper payment applications, ensures expenditures adhere to private and governmental regulations and guidelines, submits periodic reports as required by various funding agencies, responds to audit requests, and develops training, reports, and documentation regarding fiscal controls for departments and core offices.
Contract & Grant Accounting seeks an individual who has strong professional accounting and sponsored research experience. The preferred candidate will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, the ability to establish priorities and complete projects on time, an eye for detail and the ability to effectively organize, coordinate and complete a wide range of concurrent activities.
Days & Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (closed for lunch from 12-1pm)
Anticipated Start Date: 10/14/19
Projected End Date: 4/13/19
Parking Arrangements: Responsibility of the selected employee
UNMTemps provides staffing solutions to UNM departments requesting temporary employees as positions become available due to a vacancy, when regular employees are absent, for peak work periods, and for special events. As such, UNMTemps assignments/positions may end with little or no advance notice.
|Conditions of Employment|
Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 9 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; no previous experience required.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
