We are currently inviting applications for a Financial Analyst to join a newly restructured team of multiple professional staff and faculty administrators that will work closely to provide comprehensive services, coordination, reporting, tracking and support for all of Anderson’s internal and external efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex fiscal analysis, reporting, budget tracking, regular reconciliations, and all fiscal transactions related to the Anderson School of Management Foundation (ASMF), a 501(c)3 organization. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will serve as a primary interface on financial matters for Anderson’s Dean/Leadership Team and UNM’s Shared Fiscal Services.
As an integral team member, this position will contribute to Anderson’s operational excellence by providing accurate, timely and robust financial tracking and reporting. The successful candidate will interface with staff across Anderson, as well as UNM. Additionally, they will serve as the primary point of contact for Anderson’s Leadership and the ASMF Board related to financial reporting requirements. The ASMF is audited on an annual basis as an ancillary entity of UNM. There are also local, state and federal reporting requirements that the Financial Analyst will be responsible for, in conjunction with Anderson’s Dean.
The successful candidate will have superb organizational, analytical and fiscal reporting skills. They will have experience and familiarity with taxation accounting/reporting and implementing industry best practices to ensure success during regular auditing cycles. A proven track record of using inclusive practices to communicate and collaborate with individuals and groups at all levels of public and private sector organizations is also critical to the success of this position.
The applicant’s ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and the demonstration of their relevant experience, should be clearly evidenced by the cover letter, resume, sample financial report/analysis, and interview, if selected. |Conditions of Employment|
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
· A Master’s degree in business, administration, or related discipline
· Certification/licensure as Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
· Prior experience and/or familiarity with taxation and related reporting for non-profit organizations
· Prior experience and/or familiarity with audits and related processes and documentation for non-profit organizations
· Expertise in Microsoft Excel and other common software platforms for accounting and fiscal reporting
· Experience with Banner forms, reports and interfaces
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
