Position Summary

Under supervision, the Sr. Fiscal Services Tech will review and approve Chrome River expense reports for availability of funding, mathematical correctness, and compliance with University policy and state and federal funding requirements.

The Sr. Fiscal Services Tech will also oversee our effort reporting process by responding to requests and questions raised by external department administrators and UNM faculty when performing their effort certification responsibilities. This position will also follow up on delinquent reports to ensure compliance with federal requirements and will analyze and provide status reports as needed to both internal and external constituencies. As the primary point of contact for UNM’s effort certification process, this position will provide support on unresolved problems and questions and will maintain confidentiality of appropriate records and data in compliance with Federal, State, and University regulations and policies.

The Sr. Fiscal Services Tech will also verify the departmental check log on a monthly basis to ensure cash controls and compliance with funding and reporting requirements, University policy, and standard accounting procedures.

This position will also provide support to add new agencies and subawardee information to Banner, including address setup. In addition, the Sr. Fiscal Services Tech will add vendor addresses for subawardees as needed or requested by Accounts Payable.

This position may also perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Banner and MyReports.

  • Familiarity with Chrome River

  • Knowledge of Sponsored Projects

  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures related to procurement, PCard, and travel.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize work assignments.

  • Experience working in a core financial division for a large University.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
